EnergyWise teaches what a roof can actually give a household — four short modules on solar and small wind, quizzes built from them, eight questions a model answers, and one written report on your own house.
Questions this page does not cover: roccobernard262@icloud.com
Four modules, about nineteen minutes of reading in total. Each ends in a scenario quiz: four situations taken from the sections you have just read, not definitions to memorise.
Three correct answers open the next module. A wrong answer is not a penalty — it names the section it came from and links back to it, and the quiz can be retaken as many times as you like. All four passed unlocks the house report.
The course text and the quizzes are written by people and stored in the app. They are readable with the network off and they never change under you: nothing in this part of the app is generated by a model.
The Questions tab is built around eight prepared questions — the payback at your tariff, panels against wind for your region, batteries, outages, what to ask an installer, how to check a quote, and so on. You can also type your own.
A prepared question has a stable identity, so its last successful answer is kept on the phone and shown again with no connection. A typed question has no such identity and therefore no saved copy — the app says so where it matters.
Before the first answer the app shows a data-processing notice, and you can decline it. Declining leaves the course, the quizzes and everything already saved working in full; only new answers and the house report stop. You can agree later, the next time you ask.
The question you tapped or typed, the house parameters you entered — region, roof, tariff, how often the power goes out — and the sun and wind figures your region carries in the app's bundled table. That is the whole list. The app has no camera, sends no photographs, records no audio and never asks for your location.
A general-purpose model from OpenAI, reached through the Runware API, which forwards the request and returns the answer. That work happens on their servers. The app names the same model in its own notice, so the two never disagree.
Sun and wind numbers come from a table shipped inside the app, derived from the Global Solar Atlas and the Global Wind Atlas — never from the model, and never from your location, which the app does not ask for. A parameter you left blank is sent blank on purpose, so the answer names it as missing instead of quietly substituting a country average.
Seven sections on your own house: the roof, the wind, the money and the outages. It unlocks after the fourth quiz, because it leans on what those modules explain, and it needs your house parameters — region, free roof area, pitch, shading, tariff per kWh, the average monthly bill, outage frequency.
Rough answers are fine and orientation matters most. Parameters you skip are not invented: the report says what is missing rather than filling the gap. Building it takes a few seconds and needs a connection; once built it is readable offline, and if you change a parameter afterwards the app tells you the report is out of date and offers to rebuild it.
Every figure in it — and in any answer — is an estimate built from regional averages and the numbers you typed. It is not a survey, not a design and not a quote. Real production depends on shading through the day, the state of the roof, the equipment actually installed and your own contract.
EnergyWise is not an engineer, an installer or a certified energy auditor, and nobody here is selling you panels. Take these numbers to an installer as questions, and check anything you intend to act on against your own tariff and a local professional.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Answers are switched off | The data-processing notice was declined. Ask again and the notice reappears; agreeing turns answers and the report back on. |
| The assistant is not set up in this build | This copy of the app ships without the provider key. The course, the quizzes and every saved answer still work; new answers and the report do not. |
| The report is locked | Not all four quizzes are passed yet. The screen says how many are left. |
| The report will not build | Either there is no connection, or house parameters are missing. Fill the remaining fields, or build a partial report and read what it marks as unknown. |
| An answer will not refresh | No connection. A prepared question falls back to its saved answer; a typed one has nothing to fall back to. |
| The app is in the wrong language | Set it in the profile under App language. It applies at once, and the system's own dialogs follow from the next launch. |
If none of those fits, write — with your iPhone model, its iOS version, the screen you were on and what happened instead of what you expected. A screenshot saves a round of questions.
There is no account and no sign-in. Course progress, quiz results, your house parameters, your saved answers and the report are stored on this phone. Reset all my data in the profile deletes all five after a confirmation, and deleting the app does the same.
Nothing syncs, so a second phone starts from the beginning and we cannot restore progress from our side. The photo permission exists for one purpose only — a picture on your profile avatar — and that picture never leaves the device.
Retention, identifiers and analytics, and the rights you have over them, are set out in the privacy policy. Requests about your data go to the address below.
A person reads it. Replies normally go out within two working days.
One thing worth saying plainly: we cannot advise on your specific installation, price a system or review a contractor's quote for you. That is what the course teaches you to do yourself, and what a local installer is for.
